STRENGTH AND SAFETY
Work in progress
Wall drawing in pencil
Format depending on size of wall and exhibition space

Photoshop simulation of wall drawing in pencil.
Strength and Safety is based on a mural by Dean Cornwell presented in the General Motors pavilion in the New York’s World Fair. It pictures the evolution of a Body by Fischer (a car) from its drawing board conception to its final completion on the assembly line.
It is important to remember that the mural only exists through documents (in this case a postcard: see image above) as the Fair was a temporary exhibition. Here are the different stages of production featured in the mural:
1. Artist sketches
2. Model in wood and clay
3. Die making
4. Revitalizing steel
My plan is to transform this mural into a pencil drawn mural, whose format will depend on the exhibition space/wall. The pencil will be of a lighter version, type H, to create a sense of fragility and age (elapsed time).
